Welcome to Briar Glen Cottage. Fully remodeled house in rural East Texas. Come sit in the rockers on the porch and enjoy the quiet. You may see deer in the yard or the neighbor’s yard. Enjoy dinner on the patio, swing in the hammock, build a fire in the fire pit or stay in and watch Direct TV. Children have their own secret playroom. Close to First Monday in Canton. About 40 minutes to Lindale and Tyler. Callender Lake is the best kept secret in East Tx. The community offers a fishing pier (about 3/10 mile away), boat launch, swim area and park, each of which are a short distance away, on a private 365 acre lake. Bring your water toys! Great vacation getaway!!
This is a rural location so you may see a couple of friendly neighborhood dogs. There may be other loose dogs in the neighborhood as well. Also, depending on your cell phone carrier, your signal may be weak which may require you to step outside.
Briar Glen Cottage comfortably sleeps 8 people. We can accommodate two more people, but if so, they would need to sleep on the floor. If you wish to add up to two more people, there will be an additional charge of $20 per person per night. We require that you let us know about any additional guests when you book. Any unauthorized overnight guests will be grounds for cancellation through VRBO for failing to abide by our House Rules.
Please be considerate of our great neighbors by keeping quiet hours from 9 PM to 8 AM.

Summary: Holiday overflow stayed in this trusted venue for the third year. We think of it as a second home, just 5 minutes from Grandma’s house. Always welcoming, the cottage was decorated for Christmas and absolutely charming. Can’t wait for next year!

Summary: Spacious living areas and well equipped kitchen as well as a nice outdoor space for hanging out. The owner left us a firewood bundle for the firepit and we really enjoyed that one night. The community is gated and locked and the house comes with one key card, so if you weren't planning for your whole group to be together all the time, then this will make for a logistical challenge. For us, we were all one pack, so it wasn't a problem.
